When I was a little girl, in the mid-seventies, I had a fabric wall-hanging over my bed, on which was appliqued alphabet letters and next to each one was a pocket, containing an object beginning with that letter. In an age of little to no technology (and admittedly always a creative, introverted child) I spent a lot of time playing with my tiny stuffed alphabet toys, taking them in and out of their respective pockets. I also recall the classrooms of my youth, adorned with alphabet cards as learning aids, displayed above the chalkboard. These alphabets were my inspiration for the development of my own line of illustrated alphabet cards which can be displayed spelling words or names, in a variety of themes. Each theme tells a story, one letter at a time.
